UniSQ Sessions

  • Room B102, UniSQ 487-535 West Street Darling Heights, Queensland, 4350 Australia (map)

Step into a world where science, sport, technology, and creativity collide.

Brains, Boots & Beyond is an exciting National Science Week experience that brings the science of the brain to life through Virtual Reality, sport, and hands-on activities. This innovative project combines the power of neuroscience, psychology, resilience, teamwork and recovery with the energy and passion of rugby league.

Join us at UniSQ across multiple sessions where you can explore how elite athletes build focus, stay composed under pressure, and bounce back from setbacks — and discover how these same mental tools connect to study, work, sport, and everyday life.

If you’re interested in science, psychology, sport, or simply want to try something innovative and different, this is a great chance to experience science in a way that feels engaging, practical, and memorable. You’ll step inside the mindset of elite athletes and see how mental skills are built and applied under pressure.

The initiative celebrates collaboration between science, education, technology, sport and the community, with an immersive VR experience being developed by Concinnity with the University of Southern Queensland and Western Clydesdales.

Session times:

  • 18 August 2026, 12–2 pm, B Block.

  • 19 August 2026, 10–12 noon, Refectory.

  • 19 August 2026, 1–3 pm, Refectory.
